The tale of outcasts

Set against the atmospheric backdrop of Victorian England, The Tale of Outcasts follows Wisteria, a young orphan girl who survives by begging for scraps on the unforgiving streets. Despite her impoverished circumstances, she possesses an extraordinary and dangerous gift: the ability to pierce the illusions of demons and see their true forms. This unique perception leads her to an unexpected encounter with Marbas, an immortal being who has endured centuries of profound solitude. Drawn together by their shared isolation, the human girl and the ancient demon forge a deep bond, finding genuine kinship in one another's company. However, their fragile connection is constantly threatened by the Sword Cross Knights, a ruthless order dedicated to hunting down supernatural entities. The danger becomes deeply personal when it is revealed that Wisteria’s own brother serves among these brutal warriors. As Marbas works tirelessly to evade the relentless knights, the two outcasts are forced to navigate a world that despises them both. Together, they must confront whether two souls from such vastly different realms can ever truly find happiness, and ultimately decide what devastating price they are willing to pay for their forbidden companionship.
