Tonari no Baka to Tsuzuku Uso

Yuuri supposedly suffers from a bizarre, life-threatening condition: without regular doses of saliva from someone of the opposite sex, she will die. Fortunately for her, Taishi, her childhood friend and next-door neighbor, is always nearby and willing to provide the necessary remedy. As they navigate this absurd medical predicament together, their relationship begins to shift in unexpected ways, forcing them to confront feelings that extend far beyond simple friendship. However, none of that is actually true. The outlandish illness is nothing more than a fabricated story—a complete lie told by Yuuri. Yet even that revelation is deceptive in its own right, as the claim that she is lying turns out to be another layer of falsehood entirely. Caught in an endless loop of playful deception, neither of them can bring themselves to simply be straightforward. What follows is the charming tale of two foolish neighbors who constantly hide behind ridiculous stories because they are utterly incapable of being honest with one another. Their convoluted dynamic sets the stage for a comedic romance built on misdirection and unspoken affection. This series serves as a full remake of the original doujinshi of the same name.
