Yachi Haruaki is an ordinary high school student with one extraordinary trait: a natural immunity to curses. Because of this unique resilience, his father, Honatsu, regularly entrusts him with cursed artifacts known as "Worse," tasking the boy with neutralizing their malevolent influence. Haruaki's life takes a dramatic turn when he receives a mysterious black cube from his father, unaware of the dark history it harbors. That very night, Haruaki stumbles upon a silver-haired girl in the nude raiding his kitchen for rice crackers. She is no ordinary intruder, but rather the human manifestation of the black cube itself—an ancient torture device feared under the name "Fear in Cube." Taking on the name Fear, she embodies the terrifying legacy of her original form while navigating the unfamiliar world of humanity. Bound together by circumstance, Haruaki and Fear are thrust into a dangerous conflict against other Worse artifacts and the individuals who wield them. To survive these encounters, they must rely on Fear's staggering arsenal of thirty-two distinct mechanisms of torture, transforming a relic of suffering into a weapon used to protect those around them.
