Kuon no Mori

Shiorigahama is a unique coastal town inhabited exclusively by devoted bibliophiles. When high school student Yuushi Uozumi relocates there with his parents to live in the house left behind by his late grandfather, he steps into a community defined entirely by its love of literature. Yuushi has inherited his grandfather’s deep passion for reading, along with an extraordinary gift: once he reads a book, its contents are permanently etched into his memory, never to be forgotten. After transferring to a new school, Yuushi eventually finds his way to the local Shiorigahama library. There, an unexpected incident occurs when he inadvertently swallows a silverfish—a creature known as a letter-eating fish. Immediately following this strange event, a mysterious girl suddenly materializes right before his eyes. Her abrupt appearance marks the beginning of an unforeseen journey for Yuushi, drawing him deeper into the peculiar secrets hidden within this quiet town of book lovers.
