"Father, like the other young ladies, I want to get married and live comfortably!" Long ago, the Spartans were a fearsome warrior race, but under imperial rule they were granted knighthood and reborn as the noble House of Spartan. Born with their legendary strength, Macaron is the family's heir apparent. Burdened by the expectations of her father and society, she is pressured to undergo a brutal coming-of-age ceremony: slaying a dragon with her bare hands. Yet, her only true desire is to attend the debutante presentation at the Spring Ball. After a fierce argument with her disapproving father, who mocks her wish to dress up like a doll, Macaron finally secures her place in a carriage bound for the event. However, instead of arriving at the elegant Spring Palace, the carriage deposits her directly into the treacherous habitat of wild dragons. As a beast lunges toward the terrified and despairing young woman, a mysterious young man suddenly steps into its path to shield her. That single, fateful encounter forever alters the course of her life.
