College student Midorikawa is enduring a day defined by relentless misfortune. What begins as an ordinary stretch of bad luck quickly escalates when a careless accident in his own home leaves him dealing with a stubborn tomato juice stain on his kitchen mat. With no practical way to clean the mess himself, he finds himself forced out of his apartment and into the fluorescent hum of a nearby laundromat just to handle this single domestic mishap. It is within this mundane setting that his frustrating day takes an unexpected turn. While waiting for his laundry to finish, Midorikawa strikes up a casual conversation with a fellow patron who introduces himself simply as Yamada. What initially seems like a fleeting, unremarkable encounter between two strangers sharing a public washing machine soon hints at something far more unusual. The seemingly ordinary interaction sets the stage for a story where everyday inconveniences give way to unforeseen complications, leaving Midorikawa’s already terrible day poised to take a dramatic and unpredictable new direction.
