Kuroko and Her Sweet Villain

Kayoko Kuroda is a first-year high school student who prefers to remain entirely out of the spotlight. Her greatest ambition is simply to support others from the shadows, living a quiet, unremarkable life as a “kuroko”—the traditional term for a stagehand who works diligently behind the scenes without ever drawing attention to herself. For Kayoko, true fulfillment comes not from applause, but from ensuring everything runs smoothly backstage while she remains invisible to the audience. However, her carefully planned mundane existence takes an unexpected turn when she crosses paths with Rento Shishima, a fellow student widely rumored to be the most dangerous boy in their entire school. What initially appears to be a simple act of kindness—Shishima offering to help her with her backstage duties—quickly spirals into something far more unpredictable. Instead of remaining a helpful presence in the wings, he boldly declares his intention to drag Kayoko out of the shadows and transform her into the main character of her own story. For a girl who has always cherished her anonymity, this sudden declaration feels less like a romantic gesture and more like a looming disaster. With the wildly unpredictable Shishima now determined to rewrite her role, Kayoko realizes that her peaceful high school days are over, replaced by a future filled with nothing but sheer chaos.
