Sonogo no Hero

Set in the aftermath of a climactic battle, the spin-off one-shot Sonogo no Hero follows Mikazuki Shinonome as he attempts to move forward and rebuild his strength. Seeking to sharpen his skills once more, Mikazuki dedicates himself to rigorous training, hoping to find clarity and purpose now that the greatest conflict has finally come to an end. During one of these intense training sessions, Mikazuki unexpectedly crosses paths with a young boy whose worldview stands in stark contrast to his own. The child harbors a deep desire to join a local gang, having become thoroughly disillusioned with the concept of justice. In the boy’s eyes, heroes are nothing more than fictional ideals that hold no weight or place in the harsh realities of everyday life. This chance encounter forces Mikazuki into a quiet but profound dilemma. Confronted by a cynical youth who has already given up on the possibility of genuine heroism, Mikazuki must grapple with what it truly means to be a protector when the battles are no longer world-ending, but deeply personal. Through their interaction, the story explores whether the spirit of a hero can reach someone who has already decided such people do not exist.
