Happy Project

Eighteen-year-old Souta Yamano has reached the age where his government mandates participation in a unique state-sponsored initiative known as the Happy Project. This mandatory program functions as an intensive marriage camp, designed to pair young adults with suitable life partners under strict national guidelines. For Souta, this is not merely a social experiment but a binding civic obligation that will shape the entire trajectory of his adult life. The rules governing the Happy Project are unforgiving. Participants are granted exactly one month to navigate the complexities of courtship and compatibility, and each individual receives only a single opportunity to secure a match. There are no extensions, no second attempts, and no room for hesitation. The pressure of this compressed timeline transforms what might otherwise be a natural search for companionship into a high-stakes trial where every interaction carries immense weight. As the days steadily dwindle, Souta faces the daunting reality of his situation. He must determine whether genuine connection can truly blossom within such rigid constraints. With the clock ticking relentlessly toward the end of his allotted thirty days, he is forced to confront a pivotal question: can he successfully find a lifelong partner when afforded just one chance to make it happen?
