Reading Club

"For those who have courage… for those who do not fear death… open this book and turn the page!" So reads the chilling warning printed in the magazine that serializes Reading Club, a manhwa that earns its ominous reputation by inviting readers to peer into the terrifying depths of a seemingly ordinary literary society. What begins as a simple gathering quickly descends into horror, driven by the unsettling obsessions of its members and the dark secrets hidden within their chosen texts. At the center of this nightmare is Kyungdo, the club's president, whose devotion to literature has twisted into a dangerous mania. He is consumed by an insatiable hunger for books, pursuing them with a reckless intensity that borders on madness. Eunsae, deeply concerned for his well-being, desperately tries to shield him from the destructive pull of his own obsession, yet her efforts seem futile against the overwhelming grip his fixation holds over him. Kyungdo’s perilous path is far more than a mere personal struggle. His fate is inexplicably bound to history and true crime alike, tethered to the tragic destruction of the legendary Library of Alexandria—the greatest repository of knowledge ever lost—and intertwined with the chilling legacy of Truman Capote’s masterpiece, In Cold Blood.
