Henry and Charles

In this one-shot story, a mouse named Henry finds himself facing a nerve-wracking dilemma when his slow-witted companion, Charles, sets his sights on a tempting prize. A delicious cake sits atop the kitchen countertop, and Charles intends to retrieve it by traveling all the way around the surface's perimeter. While the journey might seem straightforward to the dimwitted lackey, Henry immediately recognizes the severe danger lurking just below them. The true threat is not the distance Charles must cover, but rather what rests on the floor beneath the counter. A cat lies fast asleep directly in their path, and any careless noise or clumsy movement could easily rouse the predator from its slumber. Knowing that a single misstep by his bumbling associate could spell disaster for them both, Henry takes it upon himself to intervene. He desperately attempts to halt Charles’s ill-conceived expedition across the countertop, racing against time to prevent his foolish friend from inadvertently waking the sleeping cat and turning a simple quest for cake into a fatal mistake.
