Fudatsuki no Kyouko-chan

At school, Kenji Fudatsuki is notorious for two things: his reputation as a delinquent and his apparent obsession with his younger sister, Kyoko. He shadows her every move, constantly adjusting the oversized ribbon in her hair and aggressively driving away any boys who dare approach her. To his classmates, he seems like a textbook case of a brother with an unhealthy attachment. The reality, however, is far more unusual. Kenji harbors no romantic feelings for Kyoko; instead, his heart belongs to Hibino, the only girl in class unafraid of his intimidating demeanor. The truth behind Kenji’s overprotective behavior is that Kyoko is not entirely human. She is a jiangshi—a vampire-like creature possessing strength far beyond that of an ordinary person—and she requires a daily supply of Kenji’s blood to survive. Her large ribbon serves as a vital seal. If it slips off, she instinctively attacks the nearest person. Paradoxically, the ribbon also dictates her personality: while wearing it, she is irritable and sharp-tempered, but without it, she becomes overwhelmingly sweet and apologetic even as she lashes out. Now, Kenji must balance the exhausting task of keeping his dangerous sister under control with the desperate hope of shedding his false reputation long enough to pursue a genuine connection with Hibino.
