Poo Down Hill Up

In the animated short film Poo Down Hill Up, a character named Bird Poo forms a deep and unexpected affection for a hill. Their bond, however, is abruptly severed when the hill is carried far away, rising high above the clouds and vanishing from sight. Left behind on the ground, Bird Poo is overwhelmed by devastation, unable to reach or reconnect with the landscape that captured its heart. The separation seems absolute, leaving the protagonist stranded in sorrow beneath an empty sky. Just as despair takes hold, a mysterious triangular telescope plummets from the heavens. When Bird Poo peers through this strange instrument, it reveals a breathtaking perspective: the very view that the distant hill is now experiencing from its lofty vantage point among the clouds. Through this unexpected gift, the broken connection is bridged once more, allowing Bird Poo to share in the hill's elevated vision of the world. This poignant story was produced as a 2022 graduate work at Tokyo University of the Arts, Graduate School of Film and New Media, Department of Animation.
