The Faraway Paladin

Far removed from the reaches of human civilization lies a desolate city of the dead, home to only one living soul: a young boy named Will. Despite the bleak surroundings, his upbringing is filled with warmth and devotion, guided by three undead guardians who pour their knowledge and affection into raising him. Blood, a heroic skeleton warrior; Mary, an elegant mummy priestess; and Gus, a cantankerous ghost wizard each share their unique expertise, shaping the child's mind and spirit as he grows among the ruins. As Will matures, a profound question takes root in his heart: who is he, truly? Driven by this search for identity, he begins to unravel the ancient mysteries surrounding his undead caretakers and the forgotten history of their remote domain. His journey of discovery exposes him to the divine forces that govern the world, teaching him of the boundless love and mercy offered by benevolent gods, as well as the paranoia and madness wielded by malevolent ones. Armed with these revelations and the unwavering foundation built by his three guardians, Will steps forward onto a destined path, setting out to become a Paladin.
