We Who Are Unforgiven

This compelling collection of three one-shot manga stories by Kanoko Sakurakoji explores the complexities of love, loss, and the unexpected. In the titular first story, "We Who Are Unforgiven," Ritsuko struggles with deep insecurities regarding her relationship with Yuuji, an exceptional foreign-company worker who is seven years her senior. Despite his success, his tendency to treat her like a child leaves Ritsuko questioning his true feelings, her own affection, and whether their romance can truly endure the societal bounds of an adult-high schooler relationship. The second story, "Winter Garden," follows identical twin brothers Taiyou and Daichi alongside their childhood friend Aya, who spent their formative years together in a special greenhouse. However, an unforeseen tragedy shatters their idyllic world, altering the course of their lives forever and casting a long shadow two years later. Finally, "Until the Dawn Breaks" centers on Minori, who is heartbroken upon hearing rumors that her crush, Kanno-kun, has started dating someone else. Seeking comfort from her beloved black cat, Night, she is shocked to find him missing, replaced instead by a mysterious boy in dark clothes who insists he is actually Night in human form.
