The Snake Who Loved a Sparrow

As a sparrow, Komazu understands one undeniable truth about the world: snakes devour small birds. This deeply ingrained instinct shapes his entire existence, leaving him terrified when he unexpectedly crosses paths with Shiratō, a striking white snake. Anticipating a swift and fatal end, Komazu braces for the worst. However, instead of striking, Shiratō intervenes to rescue the tiny bird from a deadly boar stampede. When Komazu instinctively lashes out in blind panic, the gentle snake does not retaliate but simply retreats, tears welling in his eyes. Shaken by this encounter, the sparrow begins to question everything he believed about his natural enemy. Driven by curiosity and lingering guilt, Komazu resolves to understand the enigmatic Shiratō better. As they spend time together, their tentative interactions blossom into a genuine friendship that gradually deepens into something far more profound. Yet their bond defies the very laws of nature. Born as predator and prey, separated by species and social standing, they face an extraordinary divide. Together, they must discover whether love can truly transcend the boundaries of the natural world and bridge the vast differences between them.
