When Ran Kurono's older brother sacrificed his life to protect Sei Ohtori, her path was forever altered. Bound by a generations-old duty in which the Kurono family serves as the First Knight to the Ohtori household, Ran dedicates herself entirely to claiming that prestigious role for the next Ohtori heir. To achieve this, she makes the ultimate sacrifice, concealing her true identity as a woman and vowing to live behind that secret indefinitely. However, securing the title of First Knight is far from simple. Eleven lesser knights harbor dark ambitions, each plotting to exploit the Ohtori family's considerable authority for their own gain. Meanwhile, Sei faces rigorous trials to prove her worthiness as the future head of the household. Upon enrolling at Saint Locks Academy, both young women find themselves thrust into a grueling gauntlet of challenges that will test their resolve, loyalty, and survival. Navigating these treacherous waters proves even more complicated with the presence of Ibara Tennou, Sei's unkempt and unrefined fiancé. Despite his rough exterior, he becomes an unexpected ally in their struggles. Together, they must endure the relentless pressures of academy life, where every passing day brings new threats and demands proof of their unwavering dedication.
