Believed to be dead, Mo Fan is secretly tracked down by his childhood friend Zhang Xiaohou after rumors of his survival begin to circulate. Upon their reunion, Mo Fan recruits both Zhang Xiaohou and Li Man for a dangerous hunt against a giant lizard. Harvesting the creature’s soul is essential to curing the devastating side effects of his devil powers. Restored to his humanity, Mo Fan travels to Song City to spend time with his stepsister Ye Xinxia, only to witness a colossal snake looming over the urban skyline. Seeking answers, he consults his teacher Tang Yue, who brings him to her island home and reveals her deep personal history with the mysterious beast. Mo Fan agrees to help safeguard the serpent in exchange for its highly prized shed skin. However, peace shatters when the White Eagle demon assaults the Western fortress and a deadly plague sweeps from Bai City into Song City. As frightened citizens blame the giant snake for the catastrophe, Mo Fan resolves to clear the creature's name by uncovering the true origin of the disease and securing an antidote before it is too late.
