Sentimental Journey

Saki’s life was shattered at the age of sixteen when she was violated by her own father. Mai, similarly burdened by a harrowing past, endured relentless abuse from her mother throughout her entire childhood. Stripped of their innocence and trapped in circumstances they never chose, both young women found themselves entirely devoid of hope. Unable to discover any meaning or solace in the cruel world they had been thrust into, they quietly harbored a shared longing for death, viewing it as the only escape from their unending suffering. Their isolated paths unexpectedly converge during a chance encounter on the street. Recognizing a kindred despair in one another, Saki and Mai forge an immediate bond born of mutual trauma. Seeking a final departure from their painful realities, they steal a car belonging to Saki’s father and embark on an impromptu journey toward the sea. Together, they drive toward the coastline, leaving behind the lives that broke them. However, as the distance between their troubled pasts and the ocean horizon shrinks, their desperate flight builds toward an unforeseen turning point that will ultimately decide their fate.
