Collected in a single comprehensive volume, Masami Kuroda’s four-part series "Mushitarou-den" spans over five hundred pages to deliver a uniquely bizarre historical epic. Set against the ruthless backdrop of Japan's Sengoku period, the story follows Mushitarou, a supernatural boy left entirely without parents or protectors. Tossed about by the merciless tides of an era defined by endless warfare, he is forced into a desperate struggle simply to survive. No matter how severely he is tormented by those around him, Mushitarou fights back with brutal ferocity, slashing his enemies' throats and gouging out their eyes to stay alive. The narrative unfolds across four distinct arcs: "Sen-nin Ken," "Ryuutenki," "Hoero Mushitarou," and "Zanchi no Mori." Through this relentless violence and hardship, the manga crafts a heartbreaking yet endearing portrait of a profoundly lonely boy battling against a world that offers him no mercy.
