Aribito no Mori/Boukon no Numa

Serving as the nineteenth volume of the Mandarake Kaiki Kashihon Kidan Series, this collection is drawn from Yukio Tani’s original Kidan Series published by Tokyo Manga Publishing. It presents two distinct fantasy tales—Aribito no Mori and Boukon no Numa—now receiving their very first reprint for modern audiences to experience. Within these pages, readers are transported to a dazzling, fantastical world where enigmatic characters find themselves face-to-face with bizarre and terrifying monsters. The narrative thrust of both stories revolves around these mysterious figures as they navigate treacherous landscapes and confront otherworldly threats, delivering a vivid atmosphere of high-stakes adventure. The visual and thematic style of the work evokes a striking sense of nostalgia, reminiscent of the dynamic energy found in classic Tatsunoko animation and the imaginative creature designs of Tsuburaya tokusatsu productions. Together, these elements forge a unique reading experience that bridges traditional Japanese fantasy storytelling with bold, cinematic spectacle.
