Perched high atop a sheer cliff, the imposing estate known as Shadows House serves as the domain of a mysterious, faceless aristocracy that meticulously mimics the lifestyle of traditional nobility. Lacking facial features of their own, these aristocratic masters rely entirely on living dolls to express their inner emotions and maintain the immaculate estate, spending endless hours scrubbing away the heavy, pervasive soot that coats every room. Within this rigid hierarchy, a cheerful living doll named Emilico faithfully assists her master, Kate. Together, the pair navigates the peculiar rules and hidden dangers of the mansion. As they work side by side, Emilico and Kate begin to question their existence, slowly uncovering deeper truths about themselves and unraveling the unsettling secrets concealed within the walls of Shadows House.
