Psychomachia

Upon completing his training, Ming Shu returns to the Criminal Investigation Bureau in Dongye City, only to discover that his new direct superior is a familiar face from his past. Xiao Yu'an, an older neighbor who once served as a protective big brother figure before vanishing without a word years ago, has unexpectedly reentered his life. As if navigating this sudden professional reunion were not complicated enough, circumstances force the two men to become roommates, thrusting them into close quarters and intensifying an already overwhelming situation. While Ming Shu struggles to manage the complexities of living and working alongside someone who left such a profound mark on him, a string of bizarre murder cases begins to plague the city. An unemployed man inexplicably descends into madness inside a quiet book cafe, the most dedicated performer of a traditional Chinese orchestra meets a strange and untimely death, and a seemingly harmless escape room game reveals itself to be far more sinister than mere entertainment. Bound by duty and driven by unresolved feelings, Ming Shu silently resolves that no matter what these harrowing investigations uncover, he will not let Xiao Yu'an slip away from him again.
