Fragrant Beast

In this world, vampires defy every Hollywood stereotype. They walk freely in the sunlight, feel no aversion to garlic, and possess no extraordinary physical abilities. Yet one defining trait remains absolute: they must consume blood to survive. When a devastating accident leaves young Yohsuke orphaned, he is taken in by the family of his companion, Naruichi. This household harbors a quiet secret—they are vampires, and they fully expect their new ward to eventually undergo the same awakening that Naruichi experienced. Raised among them, Yohsuke grows up anticipating the day his own vampiric nature will manifest. The entire family waits alongside him, confident that the transformation is inevitable. When that pivotal moment finally arrives, Yohsuke does indeed change, but the outcome shatters every expectation. Instead of the familiar fangs of a vampire, something entirely unforeseen awaits him on the other side of his metamorphosis, leaving both Yohsuke and his adoptive family to confront an unprecedented reality.
