ATRI: My Dear Moments

In the near future, an unexplained rise in sea levels has submerged much of human civilization. Ikaruga Natsuki, a young man who lost both his mother and a leg in a tragic accident years ago, abandons a harsh life in the city to return to his childhood home, only to find it half-consumed by the ocean. With no family left, his sole inheritance consists of his oceanographer grandmother’s ship, her submarine, and her mounting debts. Desperate to reclaim his shattered ambitions, Natsuki accepts a proposition from Catherine, a dubious debt collector. Together, they dive into the sunken ruins of his grandmother’s laboratory, searching for a rumored hidden treasure. Instead of riches, they discover a mysterious girl asleep inside a coffin resting on the seafloor. Her name is Atri, a robot whose lifelike appearance and rich emotional depth make her virtually indistinguishable from a human. Grateful for her rescue, she pledges herself to Natsuki, vowing to fulfill her former master’s final directive while serving as his missing leg until her task is complete. In a quiet coastal town slowly surrendering to the rising tides, an unforgettable summer begins for the disillusioned boy and his extraordinary mechanical companion.
