Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai

Following the defeat of the demon lord Hadlar, the monsters freed from his dark influence retreated to the remote island of Delmurin to live in peace. Among them is Dai, the island's sole human resident, who was raised by a gentle monster named Brass. Nurtured by tales of valor, Dai dreams of one day becoming a great hero. His chance arrives when Hadlar is unexpectedly resurrected, prompting the legendary hero Avan to seek out the boy and train him for the looming conflict. However, the training is cut short when Hadlar appears on the island, revealing that he now serves an even more powerful demon lord. Determined to protect his students, Avan unleashes a self-sacrifice spell in a desperate attempt to destroy his enemy, but the attack fails to defeat Hadlar. Just as all hope seems lost for Dai and Avan’s other pupil, Pop, a mysterious mark suddenly manifests on Dai’s forehead, granting him extraordinary power. With this newfound strength, he successfully drives Hadlar away. Bound by grief and duty, Dai and Pop set forth on a perilous journey to avenge their fallen master and restore peace to the world.
