Reading Our Way to a Happy New World

In the aftermath of a devastating apocalypse, civilization has crumbled and humanity has been forced to rebuild from the ground up. Yet, amidst the ruins of the old world, an unexpected treasure has emerged as the ultimate record of human history: manga. What was once considered mere entertainment now stands as the most perfect chronicle of the past, holding within its pages the stories, knowledge, and culture of a lost era. Against this backdrop, two individuals named Mekuri and Kiyoshi embark on a remarkable journey. Driven by curiosity and a shared passion, they travel across the remnants of the world with a singular purpose—to seek out, collect, and decipher every manga volume they can find. Each recovered book offers them a deeper understanding of the society that came before, transforming their expedition into both a scholarly pursuit and a grand adventure. Rather than succumbing to the harsh realities of survival in a broken landscape, Mekuri and Kiyoshi choose to embrace joy and optimism. Their quest to preserve these illustrated records becomes the foundation of a fulfilling existence, proving that even at the end of the world, it is possible to carve out a truly happy life.
