Fire Candy

Set in a distant future where the natural order of human biology has fundamentally collapsed, Fire Candy explores a world grappling with an unprecedented crisis. The vast majority of humanity has lost the ability to reproduce through conventional means, leaving society on the brink of extinction and forcing civilization to adapt to a radically altered reality. This devastating biological shift has reshaped the very foundation of life, introducing unforeseen consequences that challenge everything it means to be human. In response to this widespread reproductive failure, a new class of beings has emerged to populate the earth. Known as "halves," these individuals are the result of experimental origins, born from the combined genetic material of both humans and animals. Their existence represents a fragile bridge between two kingdoms of life, created out of necessity in a world desperate for survival. As these hybrid beings navigate their place within a fractured society, they must contend with the profound implications of their unique heritage. The story delves into the complexities of identity and coexistence, painting a vivid portrait of a transformed civilization struggling to find its footing in an era defined by genetic compromise and the enduring will to survive.
