When high school student Kanoko loses her older brother, Kiichiro, to a sudden death, she travels from Tokyo to Hiroshima to pay her respects at his grave. There, she meets Hijiri, the man who was once Kiichiro’s lover. Before passing away, Kiichiro made Kanoko promise to look after Hijiri, and she honors that vow without hesitation. Yet what begins as a solemn duty soon shifts into something far more complicated, as Kanoko finds herself unexpectedly falling in love with her late brother's partner. Determined to see those feelings returned, Kanoko makes a quiet pledge: she will continue traveling to the home Hijiri shared with Kiichiro in Hiroshima until he falls for her as well.
