Following the sudden death of the King, the newly empowered Queen and Crown Prince move swiftly to purge the former queen’s family from the royal court. To escape this ruthless political retaliation, Princess Skw'àh is forced to flee and seek sanctuary within the walls of a secluded convent. She does not face exile alone; her fiercely devoted lady-in-waiting, Flora, accompanies her into hiding. Driven by deep admiration for her princess, Flora dedicates herself entirely to easing the transition, going to extraordinary lengths to ensure Skw'àh remains comfortable despite their drastic fall from grace. Life within the convent proves challenging, as its austere values and customs stand in stark contrast to the refined world of the royal court they left behind. Navigating these unfamiliar social dynamics is difficult, and forming meaningful connections with the other residents requires patience and resilience. Over time, however, the two women gradually adapt to the rhythms of their new existence, finding a fragile sense of normalcy in their quiet refuge. Yet, the tranquility they have fought so hard to build is destined to be short-lived, as looming threats promise to shatter their peaceful days forever.
