Yama ni Sumu Kami

High in the mountains dwells a deity who shares his domain with a tiger. When a village falls under the shadow of a man-eating beast, its desperate leader makes a rash decree: he offers his own daughter, Hyeon-na, as a bride to any man capable of slaying the predator. Deeply troubled by being reduced to a mere prize for a violent contest, the young woman refuses to wait passively for her fate to be decided by others. Instead of remaining a trophy, Hyeon-na takes matters into her own hands and embarks on a solitary journey up the treacherous slopes. She ventures alone toward the summit, seeking an audience with the mountain's resident deity rather than relying on the would-be heroes vying for her hand. Her courageous ascent sets the stage for an unexpected encounter far removed from the violence of her village. This manga is a collection of five short stories.
