The Hero's Stand-In

Desperate to survive the looming threat of the Demon King, the inhabitants of a fantasy realm resort to summoning powerful warriors from other dimensions. However, their magical ritual yields an entirely unexpected result. Instead of pulling forth a legendary fighter, they accidentally summon Song Yi-seok, a thoroughly ordinary office worker whose only claim to fame is sharing his name with South Korea’s greatest martial artist. Upon his arrival, the desperate populace immediately mistakes him for the ultimate hero destined to save them. Thrust into a perilous adventure built entirely upon a massive misunderstanding, Song Yi-seok finds himself at the center of expectations he could never possibly meet. With no actual combat abilities or supernatural powers to rely on, he must navigate a treacherous new world while desperately concealing his mundane reality. Now burdened with the fate of an entire realm, the accidental champion faces an impossible dilemma. He must somehow find a way to defeat the fearsome Demon King and live up to his borrowed legend, all without ever letting his devoted followers discover that their savior is nothing more than an average man completely out of his depth.
