A decade ago, a fearsome evil dragon issued an ultimatum to the kingdom: surrender ten tons of gold within ten years, or forfeit the princess. When the deadline arrives and the kingdom fails to meet the impossible ransom, the dragon descends to claim his prize. However, instead of snatching the beautiful, golden-haired princess as expected, the beast makes off with an entirely different captive—Father Ivor, a priest of the church. Far from being a helpless victim, Ivor orchestrated his own abduction. Suffocated by the rigid, celibate existence demanded by the clergy, he willingly offered himself in place of the princess to finally escape his stifling life. For the cunning priest, being carried away by a mythical beast is not a tragedy but the ultimate liberation. Now free from the confines of the church, Ivor discovers that his new reality comes with an unexpected perk: his captor is not merely a terrifying monster, but a strikingly handsome and extraordinarily wealthy dragon-man. Rather than plotting an escape, Ivor sets his sights on a far more ambitious goal. His only remaining task is to charm and trick his powerful new companion into keeping him close forever.
