Hidden within the bustling city of Hanyang lies Ban Village, a lawless enclave where outcasts and fugitives seek refuge from their troubled pasts. Populated entirely by butchers who earn their livelihood slaughtering cattle, this isolated settlement operates beyond the reach of conventional authority. It is a harsh sanctuary for those with nowhere else to turn, offering protection in exchange for a life bound to blood and labor. For Su-yeon, Ban Village becomes an unlikely haven when her family is suddenly burdened with severe criminal charges. Cornered by desperation and left with no viable alternatives, she flees into the village and enters into a marriage of necessity with one of its residents—a towering butcher whose sheer physical presence commands immediate fear. His imposing stature and rugged way of life initially terrify her, casting a shadow over their sudden union. Yet, as days pass within the confines of their shared existence, the intimidating facade begins to fracture. Beneath his formidable exterior, Su-yeon discovers a man capable of profound gentleness. His unexpected acts of kindness slowly dismantle her apprehension, revealing a compassionate nature that stands in stark contrast to his brutal profession. What began as a desperate arrangement gradually transforms as she learns to see the humanity hidden behind his daunting frame.
