Summary

Translated Details

This manga anthology presents a chilling comic adaptation of some of the most compelling real-life supernatural experiences collected and shared by renowned Japanese professional storyteller Junji Inagawa. Spanning six volumes, the series brings his legendary ghost stories to life through the distinct artistic visions of multiple illustrators, including Takashiki Murasaki, Kitamoto Morimasa, Sugiyama Yuuko, Ide Chikae, Kida Akiko, Saba Tamayumi, Kamata Kimiko, Kokima Dai, Shikino Kikou, Tashiro Takuya, and Katou Yuuji. Each volume features a curated selection of eerie encounters that blur the line between the living and the dead. The tales range from unsettling phenomena in everyday locations—such as abandoned school buildings, hospitals, apartments near railroad tracks, and mountain huts—to deeply personal hauntings involving hidden dolls, mysterious footsteps, vengeful spirits, and cursed objects like music boxes and mirrors. By translating Inagawa’s masterful oral storytelling into sequential art, this collection captures the creeping dread and atmospheric tension that have made his accounts a cornerstone of modern Japanese horror folklore.
