Slave Emperor

Claren is a half-breed princess born to the barbarian people, yet her royal bloodline offers her no protection. Frail since childhood and unable to walk, she endures a life of quiet neglect, dismissed even by the servants meant to attend her. When war erupts between her family and the barbarian nation of Kailom, her relatives make a cruel choice, abandoning her entirely as they flee the conflict. Left behind and consumed by betrayal, Claren orchestrates a devastating act of revenge. She surrenders her entire royal family to the forces of Kailom, ensuring their downfall at the hands of the enemy. In recognition of this monumental contribution, the victorious nation grants her a formal title, elevating her from a discarded outcast to a woman of acknowledged standing. Her newfound status brings unexpected turns. When Claren is finally permitted to raise her head before the king, she discovers a familiar face in the royal court. Standing among them is Dean, a runaway slave whose presence introduces a new and unforeseen complication to her hard-won rise from ruin.
