Nikkan Tachibana

Nikkan Tachibana follows the life of Shigeru, a teenage boy whose everyday routine is abruptly upended by an unexpected shift in his family dynamic. His world turns upside down when his father suddenly marries Kaworu, a twenty-year-old college student. Shortly after the wedding takes place, his father vanishes without explanation, leaving behind a fractured household and a complicated new reality for everyone involved. With his father gone, the responsibility of caring for Shigeru falls entirely on Kaworu’s shoulders. Despite being only slightly older than her new stepson and still navigating her own university studies, she is forced to step into a parental role she never anticipated. The sudden transition thrusts both of them into an unfamiliar living situation filled with emotional challenges and unspoken tension. As Shigeru struggles to process his father’s abrupt disappearance and adjust to his new guardian, he must also come to terms with the fact that his caretaker is a young woman barely out of adolescence herself. Together, they are left to navigate the complexities of their unconventional relationship, forging a path forward through uncertainty, loss, and the quiet demands of daily life.
