Song Of The Hanging Sky

Jack, a seasoned field medic who has endured the relentless horrors of war, finally reaches his breaking point and abandons the battlefield in search of peace. However, his journey through the rugged, unforgiving mountains yields an encounter far beyond anything he could have anticipated. Amidst the harsh terrain, he discovers a young boy possessing wings. Relying on his medical expertise, Jack nurses the injured child back to health, gradually coming to the startling realization that the boy belongs to the legendary bird-folk—a race long thought to be nothing more than myth. Despite their vastly different origins, a genuine bond of friendship quickly forms between the weary human and the winged youth. Yet, this newfound connection is soon tested by the broader community to which the boy belongs. When the rest of the tribe learns of Jack’s presence among them, their reaction is far from welcoming. Rather than showing gratitude for the medic's life-saving care, the bird-folk view the outsider with deep suspicion and hostility. To the tribe, Jack represents an unwelcome intrusion, and they demand nothing less than his death, forcing the former soldier into a desperate struggle for survival against those he sought only to help.
