Baka & Test: Summon the Beast

At Fumizuki Academy, academic performance dictates everything. The institution rigidly sorts its students into classes based on test scores, creating a stark divide between the elite and the underachievers. Top-tier students in Class A enjoy luxurious perks like reclining seats and air conditioning, while those relegated to Class F—the lowest rank—are forced to study at decrepit tables on worn-out tatami mats. Akihisa Yoshii, the self-proclaimed fool of the story, finds himself stuck in this dismal environment alongside his longtime friend and class president, Yuuji Sakamoto. They are also joined by Mizuki Himeji, a brilliant sophomore who was unfairly placed in Class F after falling ill with a fever during exams. Akihisa secretly harbors deep feelings for her, fueling his desire to change their circumstances. Determined to escape their miserable conditions, Akihisa discovers that the academy has developed an experimental system allowing students to summon fantasy creatures. Seeing an unprecedented opportunity, he rallies the misfits of Class F to challenge the higher-ranked tiers. Using their summoned beasts as proxies, the lowest class launches an all-out war against the school’s elite, fighting fiercely to seize better facilities and claim ultimate supremacy within the academy.
