Mercenary King: From the Russian-Ukrainian Battlefield

Zheng Yi, a veteran combat engineer drowning in heavy debts after a failed construction venture in Russia, finds himself cornered by thirty unpaid workers in a site office. Out of options, he signs a mercenary contract for a meager 250 rubles a day and is immediately deployed to the frontline of Avdiivka. Initially expecting to stick to his old trade of clearing mines, building roads, and digging trenches just to earn enough money to escape, he is instead thrown into the notorious "Storm-Z" assault detachment as expendable cannon fodder. Greedy, cowardly, and foul-mouthed, Zheng mutters "this job requires hazard pay" before every single charge. In the deserts of the Middle East, he takes on tanks with an entrenching tool; in the jungles of Africa, he shares his last drop of water with child soldiers; and in the mountains of the Americas, he lays minefields while evading drug cartel assassins. With Zheng around, there is no impossible fortress to breach, no minefield too treacherous to clear, and no wounded soldier left behind. He crawls out of mountains of corpses, rises from piles of the dead, and fights his way from one battlefield to the next—until one day, the entire world calls him by a single title: the Mercenary King!
