The River's Pawn Shop

In a world where fate is predetermined, a mysterious app forecasts one's demise, and a river stands as a threshold between life and death. An ancient river god, over 800 years old, awaits a successor to inherit his duties. Jiangdu, however, is reluctant to take on this role. His motivation to intervene stems from his mother being trapped underwater and his own past experience of dying once. With each life he saves, another innocent person drowns, leaving him with a daunting realization. Driven to change the course of events, Jiangdu decides to dive into the river and alter the rules that govern this eerie world. His quest leads him to the river's pawn shop, a place where items are forever trapped, never to resurface, and where the stakes are high, and the consequences of his actions will be dire.
