Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind

Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind is a comic series by Japanese animator Hayao Miyazaki. Nausicaä, the princess of the Valley of the Wind, becomes the leader of her people after a war alliance treaty and her father's failing health compel her to take his place in battle. She is drawn into the conflict between the two powerful kingdoms of Dorumekia and the Earth Demon Kingdom. As she witnesses endless slaughter, the devastation wrought by war, and the displacement of the innocent, she sees that humanity, already losing ground against the toxic Sea of Corruption, is turning its fury on its own kind. Nausicaä takes on the mission of saving lives, ending the bloodshed, and uncovering the origins of life and the secrets of the Sea of Corruption.
