A Cadet Becomes a Prophet

Fernan Pellenberg is the young heir to House Pellenberg, one of the most distinguished noble families in the Empire, and a top-ranking student at the Imperial Academy. Yet his brilliance is entirely overshadowed by his notorious obsession with wealth. Driven by an insatiable greed, Fernan evaluates everything solely by its monetary value and only acknowledges those who can turn him a profit. Repulsed by his ruthless materialism, his peers keep their distance, leaving him isolated by his own relentless pursuit of gold. It seems divine retribution finally catches up with him when an unforeseen disaster strikes without warning. As his consciousness slips away, a foreign presence attempts to infiltrate and seize control of his mind. Relying on his sheer willpower, Fernan violently expels the intruder, but the encounter leaves him permanently altered. In its aftermath, he begins perceiving something impossible: a prophetic book that reveals the future. Rather than promising personal fortune, this ominous text foretells the impending end of the world, forcing the ultimate money maniac to confront a catastrophe no amount of wealth can buy his way out of.
