Seeking an uncharted secret location, two couples embark on a self-drive trip across the northern Xinjiang desert, veering off the main road onto an abandoned gravel path that does not exist on any map. At the end of the road lies a dilapidated adobe cabin surrounded by sea-buckthorn thickets. The moment they step inside, the scorching sun above vanishes, replaced by a permanent, pale white moon that never sets. Their off-road vehicle vanishes into thin air, cellular signals drop to zero, and the path they took is completely erased by shifting sands. They are trapped in a place that defies geography—the Moonfall Sand Ruins. Here, time stands still, space replicates their deepest fears, and illusions read every lingering obsession. Dark purple monsters lurk beneath the sand layers, and streams reflect inhuman faces. Their only sanctuary is the adobe cabin adorned with a portrait bearing a sinister smile. As supplies dwindle, demonic energy erodes their resolve, and illusions of loved ones whisper in their ears, Xiamu discovers ominous demonic markings surfacing on his arm, while Suran decodes the prophecy of the "Ten-Day Return to the Abyss" in her sketchbook. They realize that escaping this sea of sand under the eternal moon requires a portal activated by twin-patterned sacred stones, which opens only when the sun and moon shine together. With only ten days until the next convergence, the portal will open—yet eight pairs of dark purple eyes lurking deep within the dunes are already watching them. Having entered together as four, all four must return home together. This is a desperate survival battle rooted in love and trust, as well as a ten-day war against illusions, monsters, and their own inner obsessions.
