Following the fall of the Qing dynasty and the establishment of the Republic of China, the Chinese mainland remains ravaged by the fires of the Warlord Era. Across the sea, the Japanese Empire harbors growing ambitions, aggressively expanding its military and eyeing Chinese territory while frequently instigating atrocities. By 1930, eighty years have passed since the last great martial upheaval. Helong, a successor of Dragon-Tiger Mountain, uses the pretext of banning martial arts for the common good to lure the leader of the Yuyuan Divine Cult and its top masters into a trap, leading to their demise in battle. Seizing the opportunity, he invokes a Daoist suppression spell to initiate a new cycle of subjugation over martial artists across the land. For generations to come, disciples of various sects find their cultivation stagnate, their willpower erode, and their ancient martial texts reduced to mere bookworm feed. The Tianshan Sect is one such casualty. Four of its remaining members now reside in the Rugao countryside, blending into the rural scenery and worn down by the passage of time. However, unforeseen circumstances force them to leave their peaceful lives behind and plunge back into the treacherous currents of the Jianghu. Whether their future holds light or darkness is left to fate—much like the snows of Mount Tianshan: pristine, breathtaking, and utterly ephemeral. When the sun rises a few days later, every snowflake melts without a trace. Yet when winter returns the following year, the snow will fall once more, though it will never be the same flakes that danced in the wind this year.
