Set in a dystopian alternate present, *Ultra Heaven* imagines a world where all mind-altering substances have been fully legalized and made available for home use or in designated venues known as Pomp Bars. Once regarded as exceedingly dangerous, these drugs are now openly advertised on television. Bartenders curate specific products tailored to each customer, serving them in specialized cocktails. When the Pompies movement s쳮ded in pushing through drug liberalization, it was hailed as a historic turning point—a dream realized that would fundamentally reshape human existence. Yet in a society where every emotion can be manufactured and addiction is the norm, little has genuinely improved. A handful of particularly hazardous substances remain under strict oversight by hygiene offices, which wield absolute authority over cases of severe dependency. The protagonist, Kabu, is a small-time dealer and a chronic user. Inured to every variety of hallucinogenic experience, he derives his happiness from drug-induced ecstasy while simultaneously nursing a hypocritical resentment toward the very society that has condemned him to this existence. After a near-fatal overdose from mixing two incompatible substances, he drifts through his days in relentless pursuit of new stimulants—until a fateful encounter with a mysterious stranger who offers him an unprecedented illegal compound: Ultra Heaven. From that moment, Kabu is thrust into an extraordinary odyssey where dream and reality merge into a single, indivisible continuum, delivering both hysterical bliss and excruciating torment.
