A Guide to Reincarnation

Sentinel reveals that he arrived via reincarnation. Guide counters that she came through transmigration, explaining that they are both trapped inside the fictional world of a novel—where he is cast as the villain and she is nothing more than cannon fodder. She hands him the source material to read. Skimming through it, Sentinel scoffs at how his second life ultimately collapsed: the rebels of Planet X were laughably incompetent, and Y Nation's government proved pathetically feeble. He also derides the leader of Planet Z's bandit gang, questioning whether the man lost his senses entirely to betray his cause for the sake of love. Guide is taken aback, realizing this means he has been reincarnated more than once. Sentinel confirms that he is now in his third lifetime, never imagining he would be reborn again and fortunate enough to encounter her. When she dismissively asks what difference that makes, he admits that meeting her has finally given him the resolve to turn over a new leaf.
