Summary

Official Details
In an alternate timeline following World War II, Japan is divided in two: the southern islands, including Honshu, align with the United States, while the northern island of Hokkaido falls under the control of the enigmatic Union. On Hokkaido, a strange tower rises—a slender metallic spire extending beyond the atmosphere, clearly visible from the northern coast of Honshu. In 1996, three teenagers—Hiroki, Takuya, and Sayuri—make a solemn pact: they will build a near-invisible experimental aircraft, fly across the border into Hokkaido, and uncover the tower’s hidden truths. Their dream remains unfulfilled when Sayuri suddenly falls into a coma and is sent to Tokyo for medical care. Three years pass. The naïve glow of youth has faded, yet the strength of their shared promise endures. Soon, the tower’s secret will be brought to light—along with the startling connection between the structure and Sayuri’s mysteriously sustained condition. This manga retells the story of the film *The Place Promised in Our Early Days*.
