In the near future, humanity has been crushed by the Gastrea—viral parasites that have driven the surviving population into a handful of small, fortified territories. There, people endure a life shadowed by despair and constant fear. Within this darkened world, Rentaro, a boy living near Tokyo, works as a Civil Security officer, an agent tasked with combating the Gastrea threat on the front lines. Alongside him is his partner, Enju—a young girl whose maturity belies her age. Together, they wield extraordinary abilities in the fight against their monstrous enemies.
