Based on the Super Famicom game, this manga follows Marth, a young prince who was forced to flee his homeland of Aritia when it came under attack, his escape secured by his sister’s sacrifice. Years later, he returns at the head of a loyal alliance, determined to reclaim his kingdom. Long ago, the continent of Archanea was subjugated by Medeus, the Dragon King, plunging its people into an age of fear and despair. That reign of terror was finally shattered by an unlikely hero—a youth from the region of Altea who wielded a sacred blade. In a decisive clash between fang and light, the sword emerged victorious, and for a time, peace reigned across the land. But a century later, the Shadow Dragon rose once more. Darkness loomed over the continent once again. It fell to the king of Altea, the last living descendant of the legendary dragon-slayer, to take up the divine blade and answer the call of his bloodline. There, the boy devoted himself to the study of both the sword and the scholar’s craft, preparing for the future—until one fateful day…
